I made peanut butter protein balls with sugar free chocolate chips tonight :)
Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup whole wheat flour
- 3 scoops vanilla whey protein powder
- 1/2 cup natural peanut butter
- 3 tablespoons natural honey
- 1/3 cup sugar free chocolate chips
Mix all ingredients except the chocolate chips in a food processor. I found that I needed to add some water to make it a little more moist to stick. Mix the chocolate chips by hand and then roll little balls.
I got 16 balls based on the size I was rolling them. So, the macros per ball for mine:
- 117 cals
- 6g fat
- 10g carbs (4 sugars)
- 7g protein
TODAY’S PROTEIN SHAKE
I am a big fan of making my protein shakes as dessert-y as possible because I have a HUGE sweet tooth. This is what I made today:
- 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 1/2 cup nonfat plain greek yogurt
- 1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder
- 1 T natural peanut butter
- 1 small (5 inch) banana
- 1 T sugar free chocolate instant pudding mix
I added everything into my Blender Bottle - smooshed the banana up before I added of course - and shook away. Delicious!
Macros (which will of course vary depending on the brands of products used):
- 455 cals
- 13g fat
- 43g carbs (18g sugar)
- 43g protein… FORTY. THREE. GRAMS. OF. PROTEIN. Yay!
HOLY SODIUM
Every week I buy Sara Lee low sodium turkey breast from the deli counter at Walmart to keep for snacks and meals and it is incredibly delicious. On Sunday, it was completely out for the first time and there were no other low sodium turkey options so I figured I could just buy the regular Sara Lee turkey for one week. I never realized how salty some deli turkey can be until now. HOLY COW can I ever taste the sodium in this regular turkey compared to what I normally buy… :/
I ALWAYS FEEL ACCOMPLISHED
when I finish off a tub of whey protein. Yeah baby! Today I will be starting in on a new brand of vanilla that I bought last week.
