ARIZONA, YOUR HEAT IS BRUTAL
I did 4.0 miles of intervals in 102* heat. It is amazing how well it kicks your ass.
GPOY WARRIOR DASH
My friend Lauren and I ran the Warrior Dash in Arizona yesterday… so fun!! I liked the course this year better than last year. And yes, we ran the course in camouflage, war paint and tutus! :)
This video is for Josh over at wheniflysoloiflysohigh.tumblr.com… The preview looks like it has that snowy-static stuff, but I promise it plays just fine if you let it buffer.
It is a video of Manchester Orchestra playing part of I Can Barely Breathe when they were in Phoenix at the Crescent Ballroom between Coachella weekends. :)
Manchester Orchestra came to Phoenix last night with The Sheepdogs in between the Coachella weekends.
Oh, you know, that first picture is Andy Hull and the rest of Manchester Orchestra just having a beer and dinner on the patio of the Crescent Ballroom… this is the exact reason why I showed up early for the concert last night! As much as I wanted to run over there and get a pic with them, I restrained myself. And then the second picture is them in action, of course. Great show in Phoenix last night, guys!
Sunset from the top of Lookout Mountain! (Taken with instagram)
DAYDREAMING…
…about my run/hike/run tonight. I can’t wait to get off work. Pictures of a beautiful Arizona sunset from on top of a mountain to come… :)
I am officially signed up for the Arizona Warrior Dash. I am running the 12 noon wave on Sunday, April 29th. I know it isn’t nearly as demanding as a Tough Mudder, but I had a lot of fun with it last year and what I like about it is that you can control how intense the Warrior Dash is. If you want to walk it and crawl over obstacles - cool. If you want to bolt around the other people and fly over the obstacles - great! My friends of all different athletic levels can participate and we can all have fun. :)
artist: jim adkins
song: you were gone
no links this time. the track is brand spanking new!!
I was at Jim Adkins’ acoustic set (perk of living in AZ I guess) and this song was phenomenal! And of course, the acoustic version of Kill was great. I would totally buy the dvd or a cd of his acoustic performance at the Crescent Ballroom if one is released.
- Deepika Mehta
I will be visiting Iowa City in less than 3 weeks from today to go check out the U of Iowa College of Law… the thought of law school doesn’t scare me and the prospect of moving 1500 miles away from home doesn’t scare me… temperatures below 50 degrees scare me!
What is that white stuff called? Snow?… You mean that stuff really exists?
