SOME “REAL” FOOD
A new, pretty overweight girl started at my work today and she made a comment about how she was so hungry but forgot her lunch. I offered her an extra banana that I have, as well as some whole wheat bread and some peanut butter. She looked at it and was like “Umm, no, I want real food… I’m going to see if Jimmy John’s delivers here”. She proceeded to call them, but I guess they don’t deliver far enough to reach my office. Once again, I offered the banana, bread and peanut butter. She still turned it down, saying she was hungry for “real” food… but apparently she would rather eat nothing than eat the healthy stuff I offered. Wow. I was a little offended and I’m pretty sure the food I offered is more REAL than what she was going to get from Jimmy John’s.
Does anyone else have people telling them that they would rather have “real” food than the healthy food you eat?

People tell me all the time I don’t eat “real” food, but I’m also a vegan and veggies don’t qualify as real, apparently.

No, but they do give me strange looks as I munch on my carrot while walking around the office. And peeling an egg at the bus stop will get you lots of stares. Especially if you do it while wearing vibrams. :)

I used to have that happen all the time, esp because I’m vegan. “I want REAL food made with REAL butter…” yuck
